ELAYO and our research Plant Reproductive Biology group have been just awarded a grant to carry out research in the field of “Proteins and enzymes from optimised olive seed flours for feeding marine organisms”. The funding is provided by the Spanish Program for Research, Development and Innovation oriented to the Society Challenges, and will be developed until June 2017.

In this Project, the company will developt new and alternative methods to process olive fruits, and we will identify proteins (both enzymes and non-enzymatic), with potential interest for feeding purposes. The company, in collaboration with fisheries, will assay the complementation of the nutrition of marine species, like sea urchin.
